Sound Studio(tm), Version 2.5
Nothing even comes close...
Notes: It's best if you want to use Sound Studio to play modules to unzip/
unarj it to your module/player directory. Or you can unzip/unarj it to
any directory, and put your player in the path.
If you want to change the players used in Sound Studio, see the
section "Changing Players" below.
Since most versions are just beta versions, they probably have bugs.
See "How to Contact Me" below if you encounter a bug in Sound Studio.\
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
How Sound Studio came to be
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
MODRIP 1.0 was a quick little program I made in less than an hour that only
ripped MODs from demos, and used a command-line interface. Then 3 months
later, I made the even more powerful PowerRIP 2.0, a full-screen extractor
including pull-down menus, windows, mouse support, MOD/MTM/669/S3M/STM/FAR
extraction, and more. And in April 1994 I started on the Sound Studio 3.0
package, which includes 6 utilities in one: rip songs from files, "custom
rip" parts of files, rip samples from songs, convert songs, convert samples,
and file identification; and I added ULT/AMF/PSM extraction. This version
is 2.5 (which is a preview of 3.0, and doesn't have all the features of 3.0).
Sound Studio 3.0 will be released soon.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Changing Players
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you want a different player to use, or want Sound Studio to play more
formats, then edit the SOUNDST.CFG file. To add a player, just add a line to
the bottom. The format is:
"ExtensionOfFile","CommandLine*","PlayerName/Version"
* %F in the command line will be replaced by the path/filename of the file
you select to play in Sound Studio.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
How the Ripper Works
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
It tries searching the file you specify for a MOD, MTM, 669, S3M, STM, FAR,
ULT, AMF, and PSM identification, and extracts the song from the file to the
disk.

Notes When Ripping
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
After scanning files, when it ask what file to save it to, check the title
(listed in parentheses). If it's just a bunch of random garbage then skip
it - it's not a music file.
Some crews have purposely removed or changed the I.D. in their demos so the
music file(s) won't be "ripped" or "stolen" by rippers, and therefore cannot
be detected by the Sound Studio ripper.
